a. The Bible is the inspired, infallible (trustworthy), authoritative Word of God
II Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
b. There is One God, who eternally existents in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:4-6
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
2 Corinthians 13:14
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
c. God created the heavens and the earth and everything that is in them, by the power of His spoken word
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
d. Man is created in God’s image
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female He created them.
e. We are spiritually separated from God because of sin and must be reconciled to God through the work of Christ on the Cross.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
f. People are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone are we saved.
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
g. The Church is the body of Christ, a people set apart through repentance, faith, water baptism, and receiving of the Holy Spirit to serve the purposes of God on earth, and to grow in holiness to dwell with God for eternity
II Corinthians 12:12-13
12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
h. The resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven, and His present life there as our High Priest and Advocate.
I John 2:1
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defence--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
i. We believe that by the power of the Holy spirit we are enabled to live a Holy and godly life
I Peter 1:16
For it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
j. We believe in the true deity and true humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His pre-existence, His Virgin Birth, His sinless life, His bodily resurrection, Hi ascension and his future visible return.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
I and the Father are one
k. We believe God has called each of us to be part of the Great Commission
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendour. 4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.
